I am the Diva Weekly Challenge #206

Hi there!

This week's "I am the Diva Weekly Challenge" is to try using tools you've never used before to tangle. This challenge was right on time because I just watched this video Sunday night.

So in the end, I decided to use one of the Sakura Koi pens I won from the Sakura of America's #handwritesakura Instagram contest, a Sakura Pigma Brush and Strathmore Watercolor Paper (I cut out 3.5" tiles using my Silhouette Cameo). All of which I have never used before. I am VERY pleased with how it turned out *^_^*.

Now I'm going to have to buy the whole koi brush set. Sakura's evil plan worked!  >_<

Tangle patterns: (l-r) Bunzo, Narwal and Sandswirl

Just in case you're curious about what I won from Sakura, and what I submitted, here it is:

Welp! Thanks for stopping by! ^_^v

It's a String Thing #80

Hi All!

This is my first time participating in "It's a String Thing" by Adele Bruno, CZT.

This week's challenge is to use Tanglepatterns String 080, and tangles Kozy and Inaura. Even though I really enjoyed drawing Kozy, I couldn't get it and Inaura to flow to my liking. So, I decided to do a second tile, a monotangle with Inaura.

I can't wait to see what Adele posts on Monday. I'm looking forward to seeing creative tiles and tangle variations, which is one of the reasons why I love these challenges. Well, thanks for stopping by! ^_^v

I am the Diva Weekly Challenge #204: "Valentangle"

Hi all!

This week's challenge was a little rough for me. I feel so scatter-brained right now, and it shows. I kept going in one direction and then decided I didn't like it, so I blacked it out and went in another direction. Hence, "The Dark Valentangle" lol Anywho! Have a great weekend!

Tangle Patterns: Kiss, Heart String and Diva Dance

And Happy Valentine's Day! ♥

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #200

This week is The Diva's Bi-Zen-Tennial challenge. 200 challenges! That pretty amazing. I've only been around for the last ten or so, but I'm looking forward to the next 200. Anyway, Congrats, Diva, and thanks for giving the tangling community somewhere to go to have fun.

The challenge:

  • Create a tile using ONLY your go to, or favorite tangle.
  • Use the WHOLE tile! No borders!
  • And finally - put the number 200 (big or small) somewhere on your tile.

And here's what I came up with...

I feel like I'm too new at this to have a "go to" tangle, so I decided to use "Bublz". I found it on Pinterest weeks ago, and decided to give it a try. This is my first time drawing it, but I can totally see it becoming a "go to" tangle.

Welp, that's all for now. Have a great weekend!

Zenuari Day 11: "Zendala Sunday"

Since I started tangling I have really enjoyed participating in Zentangle challenges. In such a short time I have seen so many inspiring pieces of work, and have learned quite a few techniques. Currently, for the entire month of January, I am participating in a challenge called "Zenuari" by Anoeska. There is a different theme driven tangle each day. And this past Monday I drew my first mandala.

I'm so excited with how it turned out. But because I'm so nitpick-y, I decided to recreate it; this time making sure it was centered. I also took progress shot. Fancy me (eyebrow wiggle).

Started with Paradox

Added Flux

Then a random leaf pattern :o)

Then I added Orbs-La-Dee

DL Sunray

And finally something like Vortex

Done with pen, now on the pencil and tortillion

And here's the finished piece! *^_^*

Well, if you've manage to make it this far, I'd like to thank you for indulging me. This was a really fun experience, and I just wanted to share it.

Have a great weekend!
